What is the smallest luggage you can take on a plane?

I have a bag, but I don’t want it to be my carry on. It is bigger than a backpack, but not as big as most luggage. Is there a size that is too small to NOT be a carry on? This is pretty urgent, so please respond soon. Thanks!
This is checked luggage, not a carry-on. Does it matter how small the checked luggage is?

Nope, you’d be amazed at the stuff you can check in at the airline counter without anyone blinking an eye. I’ve brought home some very odd items and never been questioned.

a wallet -contact the airlines website for more info.

Your best bet is to check the airline’s website for luggage restrictions. I have never seen a minimum size for checked or carry-on luggage, only maximum, so you should be alright. In general, airlines are concerned about having a piece of luggage that is too big or too heavy and anything that is less than these maximums would be fine.
