Two people suspected of stealing up to 1000 pieces of luggage from baggage claim carousels at Phoenix’s airport have been arrested by police who found heaps of the stolen bags strewn throughout their home. (Nov. 3)

So I would wasting my time going through all the reason why Oil has special qualities that nothing, Engine run on used McDee lard, Oil farting algae, Solar power Passenger jets, Wind Turbines or even Nuclear which I have no problem with and even dig but it will take hundreds of billions of dollars and 15 years at the soonest to get on line. In the meantime world has 6.5 billion hungry people wanting to fly the friendly skies.
@valhala56 no, i don’t doubt on how important oil is to our economy and i know we are going to more extremes to find our oil also. (eg. oil sands, deeper wells etc…..) but i don’t believe in this peak oil theory shit.
you’re right, oil will not be here forever. hopefully by that time they will have perfected some other energy source that we can use every day.

That agriculture is basically turning fossil fuels into foods. ie 10 calories of Oil for every one calorie of food. I could remind me you that all our plastics, meds, some clothing well just about everything in our world would be impossible without Oil. But I feel like I am beating a dead horse. If you read some more on Peak Oil this is diastrous, as the Oil companies will abandon more expensive Oil extraction ie deep Ocean as not being economicaly viable. The simplest anolgy is a Tsunami, a huge wall of water is coming but the sign of it coming is water being drawn out to sea suddenly. That is a sing something bad is soon to happen. But hey we will see……

last summer back in 2008, i actually started to believe that crap when oil was well over $140usd/barrel. now just going back to last january, oil was being traded at $39usd/barrel. even with the emergence of china and india on the world playing field, it hasn’t seen increases like that since the summer of 2008.

Well I was mostly reffering to short haul communter flights that if we had high speed rail would be about the same amount of time. You know like the High speed rail bullet trains that run on electric in Europe and Japan.
